 Did You Know In TED LASSO…

• That the EA Sports game FIFA became a big influence on the actors in the show? During the 2020 pandemic, when production on Ted Lasso slowed down, actors Jason Sudeikis, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt all became avid players of the popular soccer videogame. The actors would frequently play against each other and even created an AFC Richmond team to play online against each other.

• Whilst playing, Billy Harris professed to being an “encyclopedia of Drake songs” and this was written into the show as being a character trait of Colin. In the new edition of the FIFA franchise FIFA 23, gamers can now play as AFC Richmond, and their titular boss, even has his own avatar in the new edition of the popular videogame.

 Did You Know In THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY…

Elliot Page had to learn the violin in order to play Viktor, but he never made it further than a "slightly decent Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Since this isn't exactly up to par with the character's musical skills, they had to use a body double; 16-year-old violin prodigy Imogen Sloss was in charge of playing the violin in the more complex scenes.

 Did You Know In BROOKLYN 99…

Filming did not take place in Brooklyn. While most people know that the NYPD doesn't have a 99th precinct, few know that the show is entirely shot on a set in Los Angeles, California. The outside shots of the precinct actually capture the 78th precinct in New York and everything else is shot on set in LA. This may come as a surprise, considering how perfectly the show manages to present the "feel" of New York.

 Did You Know In FRIENDS…

Monica was originally supposed to end up with Joey. In the original plot line, Monica would briefly date Chandler before ending up with Joey. However, the chemistry between the actors was so good and their relationship was so loved by fans that they decided Monica would stay with Chandler. This is only one of the many aspects of the long-running show that changed with the natural chemistry that grew between the cast members.

 Did You Know In GAME OF THRONES…

• That making one season of the hit HBO show would take twelve months of constant work? Producers and creators of Game of Thrones, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, have given fans of the show an insight into the lengthy processes behind the scenes when making a hit television fantasy show.

• The producers have said that they worked on scriptwriting duties at the same time as managing production. The filming of the show itself would be filmed as if it was a ten-hour-long movie, and the shoots would last for months on end.

• The result? Twelve months of non-stop work to produce one season of the show alone.

 Did You Know In THE OFFICE…

• Toby Flanderson, who is played by Paul Lieberstein, was only meant to appear in one episode of the hit sitcom?

• Toby Flanderson fast became one of The Office’s most loveable and memorable characters, but writers on the show only intended to put his character in one episode.

• This was due to Lieberstein’s relative inexperience as an actor.

• However, his role was extended in the series when Kevin Reilly, the president of NBC, watched the episode with Lieberstein in it and commented, “That red-haired guy is terrific, we should see more of him.”

• Lieberstein not only became one of the most important characters in the office, but he also wrote and directed several episodes of the iconic series.

Did You Know In BREAKING BAD…

In the show’s seminal first shot when Walter White is standing in his underwear anticipating a showdown with the cops, actor Bryan Cranston was given the option to wear sweatpants as the show’s creator Vince Gilligan was unsure Cranston would want to be so exposed in the scene. Thankfully for Gilligan, Cranston is the kind of actor who refuses to compromise in order to give his absolute best to a role, and Cranston happily wore only underwear for most of the shoot in the desert. Cranston believed that it would give his performance more credibility the more uncomfortable he was on set.
